Coffee garden

by Andrea Mulder-Slater

Today we had an urge to create a painting of a garden. I thought it might be nice to include a little texture in the piece so first, I thought about going outside and scooping up some dirt. Then, I noticed a bag of ground coffee sitting on the counter...

We began by painting the sky and ground using watercolor paints.

When that was finished, we dripped some glue along the bottom of the painting and spread it out with a piece of scrap paper.

Next came the fun part -- adding ground coffee to the painting.

To complete the picture, we added some torn tissue paper flowers with scrap paper stems as well as some colorful crayon designs.

And voila -- we had our coffee garden!

Try it yourself and keep creating!
